Modeling agencies!?

Hello everyone! I just came to the US and want to do some modeling.I was doing modeling for about 7 years ( in my country) and really want to continue but here in Chicago I dont really know where to start or where even to look for a loyal modeling agencies or an agent.Well a friend of my recommended a royal model agency so I went there and , as it turned out, this agency is actually now called Barbizon.They wanted MONEY.I said I know what I am doing and don't need any lessons, but they didn't even check my walk or anything and said that they are sure that there are some things I don't know and suggested to go through all the stuff I don't know in just 2-6 lessons for $2000 , what a scam.So that is why I am here.If there are some people who are connected to this industry please help me.

I also found a site listing other agencies in your area. I don't know which are legit and which are not, but clearly you have a good head on your shoulders, so you will steer clear of the ones that are scams. Stay away from John Robert Powers.
