How do you convert pounds to slugs and slugs to pound-mass?
I have a question that asks to convert 408 lb to slugs. I'm a bit confused on how you can go from pounds to slug*ft/s^2 or to slugs.
After that it asks to convert the slugs acquired from that into lbm(pound-mass). Is there a specific formula I can follow or is how is the conversion set up?
g=9.8m/sec^2=(9.8x100)/(2.54x12)=32.1522ft/sec^2.
1slugx1ft/sec=1lb.then 408/32.1522=12.7slugs if you live on the planet of earth.Please ALWAYS remember that the mass of ONE pound is
0.453kg on our planet.
